Nitesh Shah, a CEE graduate student studying transportation, has been named one of 54 students from UT to receive the Marva Rudolph Scholarship from the Office of Diversity and Engagement. The fund was created to assist students in their personal development as it relates to diversity and inclusion and to support their initiatives to build a more accessible, equitable, and welcoming campus community.

“The Division of Diversity and Engagement is thrilled to recognize the inaugural cohort of Marva Rudolph Scholarship recipients. Scholars that were selected are among our best and brightest students,” said Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Division of Diversity and Engagement Javiette Samuel. “Nitesh’s research on big data, travel behavior, and sustainability will help solve some of society’s most pressing transportation issues.”

The Marva Rudolph Fund, which was established in 2014, honors the life and legacy of Marva Rudolph, a long-term employee and champion of equity, diversity, and inclusion at UT Knoxville. Rudolph was passionate about students and creating respectful and inclusive living, learning, and working environments.
