CEE Doctoral Student Wins the John R. Harper Scholarship

CEE doctoral student in transportation, Ali Boggs, received one of three scholarships awarded by the Middle Tennessee Chapter of American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE). Boggs was awarded a memorial scholarship of $2,000 in John R. Harper’s name. He was an influential, long-term employee of Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) who headed the Department’s GIS unit.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the officers and members of the Middle Tennessee ASHE Chapter,” said Ali Boggs. “These professionals are not only striving to contribute to the transportation realm, but they are also giving back to the community by awarding scholarships and volunteering in various events. I am also appreciative of the University of Tennessee faculty, especially my advisor, Dr. Asad Khattak, for their guidance and assistance in my studies and research.”
