Postdoctoral fellow Victoria Rexhausen will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico, next month to present her research at the 7th Symposium on Urbanization and Stream Ecology (SUSE7). The international conference, which runs from May 13–16, 2025, includes poster sessions, oral presentations, and hands-on workshops in urban aquatic ecosystem management.
Rexhausen’s oral presentation, “An Environmental and Economic Justice Framework for Socially Integrated Green Infrastructure,” will cover her work with Associate Professor Jon Hathaway fostering community involvement in urban forests. She will emphasize the methods she and Hathaway used to establish best practices for environmental justice before beginning the project.
Rexhausen’s attendance at SUSE7 is supported by one of the newly created Postdoc Travel Awards from the University of Tennessee’s Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
