JeNai Davis joined the department as an academic advisor in early 2021. She helps CEE students with course planning and helps address their concerns about academic support and scheduling.
Davis can also help faculty and staff with departmental programming for students, or with concerns instructors may have about students. She has experience in applying approaches for diversity, equity, and inclusion in a campus setting.
“I’ve worked a great deal in DEI programming on college campuses prior to my role here,” she said. “So I’d love to incorporate some of these programs into our department.”
Davis is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina. She earned her undergraduate degree in human services at Wingate University in her home state and her master’s degree in higher-education student affairs at Purdue University in Indiana.
She’s having a good time getting to know Rocky Top and East Tennessee.
“I really enjoy the atmosphere and individuals in TCE,” said Davis.
She and her partner Isaiah are settling into their new Tennessee home along with their black lab named Max. They enjoy exploring the outdoors on hikes, reading, trying new foods, or binge-watching Netflix on the weekends.
