The first donation box designed by a Tickle College of Engineering Senior Design team has been installed in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP).

The Senior Design team, composed of students from three engineering departments, including CEE, worked with the non-profit Friends of the Smokies to create a new donation box that would be faster and cheaper to repair or replace as needed. The first of the newly-designed boxes is now installed at Newfound Gap, and if all goes well, the goal is to replace all donation boxes in GSMNP with boxes created using the engineering students’ design.
