Biography
Penumadu has been a faculty member in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) since fall 2001. He currently holds Fred N. Peebles professorship and the Institute for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (IAMM) Chair of Excellence position, joint with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
He served as the Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering from 2007 to 2014. Prior to joining UT, he was a faculty member at Clarkson University for 8 years.
