Senior Design Students Work to End Suicide Crisis on Bridge

Several CEE students recently were featured in the Franklin Home Page for their work on a Senior Design project aimed at improving pedestrian safety on the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge in Williamson County, Tennessee.

The bridge has been the location of at least 32 reported suicides, and the students are working with several organizations to propose a solution that will both meet government requirements and improve safety. Students working on the project include Nancy Abdo, Joey Allston, Connor Campbell, Meet Patel, Payne Susong, and Jay Thota. Senior lecturer Jenny Rutherford is serving as faculty advisor on the project.
