This year’s 4th Annual Women in STEM Research Symposium will be held on Thursday, March 1st, from 8 am to 5 pm in the Baker Center, and the call for abstracts and volunteer judge sign-up are now open on the website.
This free, full-day professional conference will highlight the broad array of scholarly contributions being made by self-identifying women in any science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) filed via poster and oral presentations and is open to the public. Awards for best poster and oral presentation will be given based on the results of volunteer judges. The day’s events will also include a keynote lecture given by Mary Miller — UTK alum, engineer and Acting Assistant Secretary of Research and Engineering of the U.S. Department of Defense and a panel discussion with local women in STEM.
