Title: Short-term traffic speed prediction for a large-scale network

Mr. Bumjoon Bae, Ph.D. Student, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering

Mr. Bae joined UTK in August 2014 and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and MS in Statistics. He obtained his master’s degree in City Planning from Seoul National University and worked as a traffic signal engineer for 3.5 years in Seoul, South Korea before joining UTK. His research interests include traffic flow theory, urban traffic managements and operations, and intelligent transportation systems.

Title: Identifying and analyzing extreme lane change events using basic safety messages in a connected vehicle environment

Ms. Meng Zhang, Ph.D. Student, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering

Ms. Zhang joined UTK in August 2014 and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and MS in Statistics. She obtained her Master’s degree from Dalian University of Technology in China. Her research interests include transportation safety, driving behavior, connected vehicle, and data analysis.
